The WPBID undertakes a number of activities to promote the downtown and its businesses.

Shop White Plains Discount Card Program

The Shop White Plains discount card program helps generate traffic to downtown shops and restaurants and is free to participating merchants. Shop White Plains cardholders are provided with the ability to obtain discounts on goods and services purchased within the BID. Each business owner has the ability to uniquely structure their own discount. Cards can be purchased for a modest fee of $5 and have no expiration date.

Shop White Plains cards are available for lifetime purchase on our website.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is celebrated nationally each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The WPBID promotes the small businesses of downtown White Plains on Small Business Saturday as an American Express Neighborhood Champion. Each year we promote the day through advertising and distribution of Shop Small® merchandise to downtown small businesses, and a special event which includes giveaways for shoppers.

Visit the Events page in November to see how we’ll be celebrating Small Business Saturday this year.

WPBID Dining Guide

The WPBID prints and distributes a Dining Guide that lists the many restaurants in downtown White Plains. Dining Guides are distributed during events, and to hotels, apartment buildings, tenant associations, government agencies, and community organizations.

The third edition of our dining guide is available on our website.

Bi-weekly E-Newsletter and E-Blasts

The WPBID produces a bi-weekly online newsletter, Discover White Plains, which features events, promotions, and activities being hosted by local merchants, entertainment venues, and not-for-profit organizations in the area. When appropriate, the WPBID highlights important city-wide information, events and specials offered by local merchants through additional email blasts.

The WPBID regularly and consistently retweets and shares posts from WPBID businesses and organizations to continue a conversation and increase interest and visibility for the WPBID, its businesses and all events.
