Downtown Music delights audiences with its beautiful setting and award-winning series of free, weekly concerts that offer a variety of musical genres and styles.

Free 45 minute programs at 12:10 pm every Wednesday from September 2021 through May 2022. Located at Grace Church, 33 Church Street by the corner of Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue. For more information, visit dtmusic.org.

9	The Gabrielle Garo Quartet Join us for a jazz concert by The Gabrielle Garo Quartet, presented by Downtown Music as part of JazzFest White Plains 2021. Presented in partnership with ArtsWestchester.

15	Sounds of the Scottish Highlands Sounds of the Scottish Highlands (Outdoor Concert) – Celebrated piper Jonathan Henken returns to Downtown Music to launch our 34th season with a program of ancient airs and dances of Scotland.

22	Chamber Music with the Phil: Deborah Wong and Steven Beck The musicians of the Westchester Philharmonic return for one of their exciting chamber music concerts.

29	Anna Rabinova and Svetlana Gorokhovich Violinist Anna Rabinova and pianist Svetlana Gorokhovich collaborate on an exciting program that includes music by Brahms and Sarasate.

6	Hailey McAvoy and Bethany Pietroniro Mezzo soprano Hailey McAvoy is joined by pianist Bethany Pietroniro for a voyage through Aaron Copland’s Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson.

13	The Nocturno Project The Nocturno Project, with Nicki Denner (keyboards), Anton Denner (woodwinds), Mayra Casales (percussion), and Jennifer Vincent (bass and cello) charts a new direction for this all-star ensemble of jazz veterans.

20	Laureate of the New York International Piano Competition Downtown Music continues its collaboration with the virtuosic young pianists who are prize winners of this venerable contest.

27	John Lehmann-Haupt Guitarist John Lehmann-Haupt returns to Downtown Music with a program including works by Bach, Haydn, Gershwin, and Villa-Lobos, and a selection of popular and traditional song arrangements.

3	Woody’s Children at Grace With 26 recordings and hundreds of songs in his repertoire, Tom Chapin serves up a tasty mix of story songs, ballads, comedic and political songs, family music, sing-alongs, old-time folk classics, and a favorite song or two of his late brother Harry’s.

Chamber Music with the Phil
The Westchester Philharmonic String Quartet, with Robert Chausow and Martin Agee, violins; Michael Roth, viola; and Eugene Moye, cello, will treat us to special concert in our continuing partnership with the Phil. The program features Haydn’s String Quartet in D Minor, Op. 74, No. 2 “Quinten,” and Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 12, “American.”

1	New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players with Bob Sherman A trio of stars of New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, also known as The Wand’ring Minstrels, perform an Afternoon of Gilbert & Sullivan favorites, featuring many selections from the full repertoire of Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic operas.

8	A New Noel Cabaret artist Kimberly Hawkey is joined by pianist/arranger Assaf Gleizner to perform songs from their new holiday album, as well as traditional Christmas carols and swing songs.

15	Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, presents a concert celebrating their 25th season.

2	Jardena Gertler-Jaffe and Bethany Pietroniro Jardena Gertler-Jaffe, soprano and Bethany Pietroniro, piano explore the concepts of the spiritual, sacred, and secular through repertoire by Jewish composers and poets.

9	Hailey McAvoy and Ryan MacEvoy McCullough Mezzo Soprano Hailey McAvoy and Pianist Ryan MacEvoy McCullough team up to offer the strikingly beautiful song cycle Les nuits d’été of Hector Berlioz.

16	Loren Greer and Bethany Pietroniro Based around the Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo by Benjamin Britten, Loren Greer, vocalist and Bethany Pietroniro, piano explore the poetic potency of art song literature.

23	An English Pastoral Tenor Maximillian Jansen is joined by Helena Baillie playing violin and viola and organist Timothy Lewis for this program featuring the striking and rarely heard Four Hymns for Tenor and Viola of Ralph Vaughan Williams as well as the composer’s evocative Lark Ascending.
