Stalled 400 unit White Plains luxury living project set to resume after bankruptcy case

A stalled White Plains project that’s expected to bring more than 400 luxury apartments to the city’s downtown is going to restart next week, a member of the development team confirmed Friday.
The project stopped in early June after the initial contractor for the job, Katerra, filed for bankruptcy, a victim of the pandemic fallout, it said.
But Greg Belew, of LMC, a Lennar Company, said Friday that construction was expected to restart next week with a new contractor. He declined to name the contractor as the the final details of the deal are being hammered out.
The project, dubbed The Mitchell, would bring a two-tower mixed-use development with 434 luxury apartments to the corner of Mamaroneck Avenue and East Post Road. Retail space and parking is also in the plans. The site is formerly known as Broadstone White Plains.
