An affiliated company of Lennar Multifamily Communities has closed on a $25 million purchase of properties along Mamaroneck Avenue and Mitchell Place in downtown White Plains. The purchase marks the latest step in a plan from the company to build 434 apartments and a small retail space along a stretch known as the city’s “restaurant row.”

WHITE PLAINS — The new owners of a former East Post Road tavern are making a $260,000 bet that millennials will pay $1,700 to $1,900 monthly rent for apartments that don't include parking.

 

Mamaroneck Ave and Martine Ave Repaving

The City of White Plains DPW crews will be paving intersections on Mamaroneck Avenue at Mitchell Place, Quarropas Street and East Post Road. Expect road closures on Mamaroneck Avenue between the intersections of Martine Avenue to Maple Avenue. We regret any inconvenience this may cause but we thank you for you cooperation.

The roar of jackhammers, rumble of heavy trucks and clanging of hammers on steel will soon become familiar at the city's keystone corner as work is about to begin on an apartment complex that will change the face of Mamaroneck Avenue and East Post Road.

The mixed-use "Broadstone" development includes two 15-story luxury apartment towers and one six-floor building, retail space, six levels of parking and a small public park. 

Developer of former Westchester Pavilion site returns with new plans

A dirt hole the size of a city block in downtown White Plains where the Westchester Pavilion once stood, may be a bit closer to actually seeing residential towers rise.

Representatives from a development team led by Lennar Multifamily Communities presented conceptual plans July 30 to the city’s Common Council for the former Westchester Pavilion site. Lennar Multifamily is the apartment-focused subsidiary of Lennar Corp., the country’s largest homebuilder.

White Plains Mall redevelopment efforts take step forward with zoning approval

Plans to tear down White Plains Mall and replace it with mixed-use apartment towers and an open central “Hamilton Green” took a step forward July 2.

The White Plains Common Council approved a necessary zoning amendment to allow for the project and opened review on the development’s next required municipal approval, its site plan.
