White Plains restaurant, Mediterraneo, opens on Main Street

Farm-to-table restaurant takes over three floors of long vacant White Plains building.

A new seafood restaurant is opening on a familiar corner in White Plains.
Mediterraneo, specializing in small batch cooking, is taking over the space in a building long vacant on a busy corner of Main and Court Streets in White Plains. If you're a resident or work in the city, you've probably noticed the building, sheathed in blue glass and criss-crossed with beams and wondered about its fate.
No more. The sleek, upscale eatery will take over all three floors of the building, which has been vacant since 2010. The building is owned by real estate developed Louis Cappelli.
It will serve coastal Mediterranean dishes in a French and Italian-style of cooking.
