Mamaroneck Ave. buildings demolished to make way for 434-unit apartment complex

Demolition has been almost completed at the corner of Mamaroneck Avenue and East Post Road this week to make way for a 434-unit luxury apartment complex, formerly known as Broadstone White Plains.

The two-tower mixed-use development, which has yet to be renamed, received final approval from the Common Council in September 2017 when it was proposed by Alliance Residential Co.

Since that time, two people who led the project at Alliance, Gregory Belew and Charles Epstein, have moved to LMC, a Lennar Company, along with the project. The 15-story development is now moving forward under LMC, which is also in charge of the luxury apartment complex at the former Westchester Pavilion site at 60 S. Broadway.

The 2.1-acre, odd-shaped lot at the corner of Mamaroneck Avenue and East Post Road also has frontage on Mitchell Place.

“It’s a very unique property. You don’t see many unique properties located in such a great location," said Epstein, vice president of development with LMC. "Our architect did a great job designing a property that really fits the community needs."
