The Fifth Annual Harlem Fine Arts Show Comes To White Plains

The Harlem Fine Arts Show Comes to White Plains will celebrate its 5th Annual Event, showcasing Artists and Authors on Tuesday, March 29 at the White Plains Library, 6 pm – 9 pm. The event showcases African American Artists and Authors from the New York metropolitan area. This year’s Special Recognition honorees will include the acclaimed R&B and Pop singing group, Atlantic Starr, and youth phenome, Julius Rodriguez.

Featured Authors include: Flo Anthony, David Banks, Dr. Martia Goodson, Monica Michelle, and Carol Hill Mackey.

White Plains Adds Big Belly Solar Garbage Receptacles to Downtown

Just in time for Earth Day, the City of White Plains is rolling out the latest in garbage technology. The City Department of Public Works will be piloting three Big Belly Solar garbage units in the downtown area. These big boys are capable of holding five times the amount of garbage as our standard trash receptacles by compacting the garbage deposited inside. The compactors are solar-powered. The unit also features a foot pedal, which allows no-touch opening.

WHITE PLAINS - In 2005, when valet parking stations at the City Center and at least least eight other areas were causing confusion and congestion on several business district thoroughfares, Thomas Roach, then a member of the Common Council, called on the city to regulate valets... Fast forward to 2016. In response to a request from the City Center to re-establish the service that was suspended a few years ago, the Common Council, with Roach now presiding as mayor, unanimously approved a valet parking law on Feb. 1.

White Plains’ vacant storefronts become canvas for Purchase students

The New Mobile Parking App For White Plains

The City of White Plains has introduced a new mobile parking payment application, ParkWhitePlains. This new app is replacing the previous mobile payment system, Pay-by-Phone. The ParkWhitePlains app will bring increased convenience and ease of use along with custom features developed for White Plains.
