The White Plains Jazz Fest was named "Best Jazz Festival" by Westchester Magazine! You can see the "Best of Westchester" feature in their July 2016 issue.
White Plains Mayor Tom Roach said that, by encouraging development of housing in the business district, and negotiating with developers to make public improvements, the city is "creating an exciting, vibrant downtown."
"We've been successful in attracting not just millennials, but empty-nesters and people in general," he said.
Roach agreed that bringing young professionals into the region was critical.
The next public engagement session for the downtown transit district study is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15 at 6:30 pm in the NY Power Authority building, located at 123 Main Street, 1st floor Jaguar Room.
Last spring, The City of White Plains launched its mobile parking app, ParkWhitePlains. They have seen an increase in usage of the app since launching, starting out with 6,767 transactions in May 2015 and growing to 27,811 transactions this past March.
